Atelier Living is a publication. That word carries obligations. This policy sets out what those obligations are, and how we honour them.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently of our commercial relationships. Brands that advertise with us, partner with us, or appear in our directory receive no favourable editorial treatment by virtue of that arrangement. Brands without a commercial relationship with us are assessed on exactly the same grounds as those with one.

The editor holds final authority over all published content. No commercial partner, advertiser, or sponsor has the right to review, approve, or veto editorial copy before publication. This is a founding principle of this publication, and it does not change.

Sponsored Content

Atelier Living produces sponsored editorial content in partnership with brands. We hold this content to the same editorial standards as everything else we publish: it must be accurate, specific, well-written, and genuinely useful to the reader.

All sponsored content is clearly and consistently labelled. Readers will always know when they are reading something produced in commercial partnership. The labels we use:

· Sponsored: content commissioned and funded by a brand
· Brand Feature: editorial content produced in partnership with a brand
· In Partnership With: content developed collaboratively with a commercial partner
· Advertisement: display advertising, clearly distinguished from editorial

We do not publish content that is designed to look like independent editorial but is not. The distinction between editorial and commercial content is never ambiguous in our pages.

Editorial Standards

The following standards apply to all content we publish, regardless of how it is funded.

ACCURACY

Factual claims must be verifiable. Where there is genuine uncertainty, we say so. We do not present speculation as fact.

SPECIFICITY

Atelier Living editorial is specific. We name materials, designers, makers, studios, and places. Vague references are a sign of insufficient reporting, and we do not accept them.

ATTRIBUTION

All photographs are credited to their photographer. All projects are credited to their studio or principal designer. All written contributions carry a byline. We do not publish unattributed content.

FAIRNESS

Where a person or organisation is the subject of critical coverage, we offer the opportunity to respond before publication where it is appropriate and practical to do so.

ORIGINALITY

All editorial content is original or properly licensed. We do not republish third-party content without permission and attribution.

Corrections

When we publish something incorrect, we correct it transparently. Minor typographical errors are corrected without notation. Factual errors are corrected with a clearly dated correction statement appended to the relevant piece, describing what was wrong and what is correct. Significant corrections are accompanied by an editorial note.

Corrections cannot be requested by brands or commercial partners on grounds of preference or commercial sensitivity. We correct errors of fact, not editorial judgements.

To request a correction, write to hello@atelierliving.live with the subject line Correction Request and the name of the piece. We aim to review all requests within five working days.

Conflicts of Interest

Contributors are required to disclose any personal or financial relationship with a person, brand, or project they are covering. Where a conflict exists, that contributor is removed from the relevant commission. Editorial team members do not write about commercial partners for non-sponsored pages.

Privacy in Coverage

When we feature individuals, whether homeowners, craftspeople, or designers, we obtain their informed consent before publication. We do not publish home addresses or other private information without explicit agreement. Locations are described at the level of city or neighbourhood unless the subject has specifically agreed to more detail.

Artificial Intelligence

Atelier Living may use AI tools to assist with research, first drafts, and ideation. No content is published without human editorial review and approval. Our editorial standards apply equally to all published content, regardless of the tools used in its production.

Feedback

We welcome feedback from readers, contributors, and the broader design community. If you have a concern about the accuracy, fairness, or integrity of anything we have published, please write to us at hello@atelierliving.live. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within five working days and to provide a considered response within twenty-one working days.
